Time to Bloom

Spring has always been my favorite season. I love watching everything come back to life, slowly unfolding and beginning to bloom again. There is something about it that makes me want to create, to grow, and to bring something of my own into the world.

Time to Bloom is my largest painting to date and it was created during a time when I was still exploring realism in my art. But beyond the painting itself, it became a reflection of my own journey.

I started painting as a child, then stepped away from it for many years. In 2025, I found my way back to it and finally allowed myself to truly pursue something that makes me feel alive.

The title Time to Bloom became a reminder that sometimes our passions go quiet for a while. That doesn’t mean they are gone. Like the cherry blossoms, they return when the time is right.

The painting is built up in many layers, using real leaves to create natural impressions in the texture paste. For me, they became a symbol of the traces our experiences leave behind, the little pieces of life that stay with us and become part of who we are.

We can’t always choose what life leaves behind. But we can choose what we make of it, and how we continue to grow from it.

There is also something beautiful about how delicate things can move us so deeply. A small blossom, a soft moment in nature - and yet it can leave a lasting impression.
