Soft Memory

In March, I spent a few days in Salzburg, and one afternoon I found myself standing by the river, watching the first signs of spring slowly return.

The sun was still soft and a little shy. A few swans were drifting across the water, and the first blossoms were beginning to appear on the branches. It was one of those quiet moments that somehow stay with you, even though nothing extraordinary is happening.

I had the idea to take some of the river water home with me and use it to let the colors flow across my canvas. There’s something beautiful about the thought that water can carry memories and information. In a way, I wanted to bring a little piece of that March afternoon home with me.

The water from the river became part of the painting, carrying with it the feeling of that first soft spring day. The light, the calmness, the beginning of something new.

I called it Soft Memory – a small piece of a moment I wanted to keep, not just in my mind, but on the canvas.

A painting about the softness of spring, the memories we carry with us, and the quiet moments that stay.
