Opposites Attract, They Say

The green and pink scattered across the canvas represent two different worlds - contrasting in color, energy and feeling, yet somehow drawn to one another.

At the center, a green butterfly reaches toward the pink one resting in the corner. They seem to belong together, yet the distance between them remains. Sometimes, even when two people want to find their way to each other, their thoughts, feelings or perspectives simply move in different directions.

But perhaps there is a way through the scattered pieces. The butterflies could find their way to each other, but they have to want it. They have to look for the path, make an effort, and be willing to move through everything that stands between them.

Opposites do attract. But attraction alone is not always enough. Sometimes the very differences that draw us in are the same ones that make it difficult to truly meet in the middle.

A painting about attraction, differences, and the conscious choice to find a way toward each other despite everything that stands in between.
