I grew up as one of nine children, and my world was often loud, full of movement and people. From an early age, painting became my way of retreating into a little world of my own. A quiet place where I could recharge, explore and simply be.

Art has always been one of my ways of expressing what words sometimes can't. Painting, singing and playing the piano have accompanied me throughout my life, each offering its own way of processing emotions, finding expression and connecting with myself.

For many years, I painted predominantly in realism. I loved the challenge, but over time I noticed how perfectionism and self-criticism took over. Everything had to look exactly as it did in reality. I became more focused on getting it right than on how it felt to create.

I wanted painting to stay the one place where I didn't have to get everything right.

This led me towards intuitive and semi-abstract painting - allowing colour, movement and form to guide me rather than knowing exactly where a painting will end up. I love experimenting, following my intuition and seeing what unfolds when I give myself permission not to control every detail.

A lot of my inspiration comes from nature. The sea, the mountains, animals, colours and organic forms all give me a sense of peace and energy, and often find their way into my work.

What draws me in most is the idea of creating art that holds onto a feeling.

An old memory.
A feeling of inspiration and joy.
A colour that instantly lifts your mood.

I want my paintings to create a bridge between those feelings and the spaces we live in.

Because to me, home is more than a room. It is a space that belongs to you - a place where you get to decide what you want to feel when you walk through the door.

And perhaps that is what I hope my paintings can become: a little piece of feeling that you get to bring home.
